SLC VIII Brought the BVM Family Together!
September 25, 2019

Every year, Best Version Media invites hundreds of entrepreneurs to Milwaukee for our annual Strategic Leadership Conference. This year, BVM packed our venue as a record-breaking number of Publishers flooded the city to meet fellow Publishers, discuss new strategies and hear from BVM leadership.
Publishers from all around the U.S. and Canada came together to learn, exchange ideas and, most importantly, enjoy some time with entrepreneurs who understand the same grind they go through every day. David Pillinger, who’s been with BVM for about five years, talked about the excitement that filled the room during the conference.
“The atmosphere is palpable; it’s almost like a rock concert,” Pillinger said. “SLC is a great opportunity for everyone to get together once a year.”
The founding partners of Best Version Media – Dave Durand (CEO), Pete Ericksen (COO) and Paul Labinski (CPO) – opened this year’s festivities with words of encouragement and gratitude to the Publishers, the people who are the true livelihood of our company.
“The best part of SLC is being with the team,” Durand said. “We are building something incredible together, and when you talk to the team, it’s no secret that our people are the reason for our greatness.”
Year after year, SLC proves to be a must-see event for anyone working with Best Version Media. It’s an eye-opening and fun learning experience for everyone who attends – no matter how long they’ve worked with BVM. Jeremy McCaslin, a Publisher since 2014, explained why SLC is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and invest in yourself.
“That’s my favorite part of coming; being able to talk to other people about the business who can relate to what I do every day,” McCaslin explained. “I’m big on making an investment in yourself, and if this is the buisness you choose to be in, what better investment can you make?”
One of the most exciting highlights of SLC every year is the “Sharing Our Best” check presentation. Each year, BVM gifts a financial contribution to one local organization to help them continue making a difference in the Milwaukee area. This year, we recognized Summit Educational Association, a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to serve economically disadvantaged inner city Milwaukee students and to promote academic excellence and character development.
Each year, students from Summit visit BVM headquarters to listen to career advice and ask questions to our leadership. It was an honor to present this organization with a donation that will surely help them continue to make a strong impact on our local youth.
Speaking of honors, our Publishers never leave SLC without some hardware! Awards handed out this year included the Summer Excellence Awards, Customer Service Renewal Excellence Awards, Career Milestone Awards and the Record Breaker Awards. We love recognizing our Publishers for the hard work, commitment and determination they show each and every day.
Our highly-awarded culture was on display as our Publishers, sales leaders, and our supportive Home Office staff came together to share and build on each other’s successes. We’re already counting down the days to SLC IX, and we look forward to shattering our attendance record yet again!
