7 Phrases You Won’t Hear From Successful Entrepreneurs

June 29, 2020

As an entrepreneur, almost nothing is more important than crafting a winning mindset. Day in and day out, entrepreneurs attack the daily grind as they work toward turning their dreams into reality. To build a strong business, it takes more than just a great work ethic. It also takes mental toughness and an unwillingness to quit. Shape your mindset so that it matches your drive. You are truly the only thing holding you back from achieving your goals. Here are seven phrases you won’t hear often from a successful entrepreneur.

“This is never going to work.”

The most successful entrepreneurs always find a way to make it work in the end. It’s easy to give up on your big ideas and to make excuses why they aren’t possible. Continue to think through new ways to turn your ideas into real results. Oftentimes, the best thoughts you have to improve your business are the most difficult ones to put into action, but don’t let that stop you from pursuing them.

“It’s just one of those days.”

Everyone has an “off” day from time to time, but that doesn’t mean your mentality towards the day should change. A lack of motivation or a distraction outside of work is an easy way to make an excuse, but every single day can be your day if you make the most out of it.

“This isn’t fair.”

A lot of things in life are unfair, but don’t let that stop you from reaching your vision. There will surely be roadblocks along the way that’ll cause you to reroute, but you’ll eventually reach your end destination with huge success. Continue to work diligently, even when the circumstances are tough and things aren’t going your way.

“I don’t want to learn something new.”

The people around you, like your clients and coworkers, are great resources to learn from.  Everyone has different experiences and new things to teach one another. Grasp every opportunity possible to learn more about your craft, and use it to make needed improvements to your daily life and your business.

“I don’t have enough time.”

The most brilliant minds in history also had the same 24 hours a day as you. Make the most out of every minute and prioritize your work wisely. You’ll be surprised by how much you can get done in just one day’s work. Setting up deadlines is helpful when trying to keep your calendar organized, but don’t let those time parameters dictate how long your work should take. Focus on doing a great job and track your activity levels to really determine how much you’ve accomplished.

“I have enough experience.”

No matter how old you are, how much work experience you have, or how much education you’ve completed, you’ll always benefit from seeking out new experiences in life. Put yourself in new situations by stepping out of your comfort zone. Whether they end up being positive or negative situations, nobody is capable of having too many experiences under their belt.

“I don’t need your input.”

It’s always a good idea to have a second set of eyes on your work. Ask for feedback when you complete a project and use it to your advantage. Make those small tweaks that you otherwise would have forgotten to make. Collaborate with your coworkers whenever possible and don’t shy away from asking for their opinions. Successful businesses are the result of more than just one person – it often takes a team to reach a true level of success.

Believing in yourself is a huge key to finding success in your career. Avoid falling into a negative mindset and understand what you’re truly capable of. Use the people around you for support, tap into their experiences and never say never. Set your goals and begin working toward them with positivity.
