El Centro Parks & Recreation: A Summer Full of Fun, Learning, and Community

As the warmer months approach, the City of El Centro Parks & Recreation Department is excited to begin preparing for another busy and engaging summer for our community. Each year, our summer programs are designed to provide safe, enriching, and fun opportunities for residents of all ages — from young children experiencing their first programs to teens and families looking to stay active and connected.
This summer, residents can look forward to a wide variety of programs, including youth sports, summer camps, enrichment activities, and early-learning opportunities. Our goal is to offer programs that promote physical activity, creativity, social interaction, and overall well-being.

Some of the programs returning this summer include:

  • NBN (Nothing But Net) Basketball Program, which focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and structured environment.
  • Youth Volleyball, offering participants the opportunity to learn fundamentals, build confidence, and enjoy friendly competition.
  • Summer Camps, featuring themed weeks, games, crafts, group activities, and special experiences that keep kids engaged all summer long.
  • Stepping Stones Program, an early-learning program designed for children ages 0–5 and their families, emphasizing social interaction, early development, and family engagement in a welcoming setting.

In addition to these programs, the Recreation Department will offer a variety of fitness classes, aquatics programs, arts and cultural activities, and special events throughout the summer, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Summer 2026 Recreation Brochure will be available in April 2026 and will include full program details, schedules, and registration information. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and check for updates as programs are announced.
