Gladys, a beloved rescue from a shelter in Brookhaven, Mississippi, has been a constant source of joy through many life changes since her adoption in 2011. After her original owner passed away in 2018, she became my mother’s devoted companion, and later, when my mother’s health declined, Gladys moved with her to New Orleans, quickly charming everyone she met. Following my mother’s passing in 2021, Gladys became our dog, and in 2023, we all moved to LMWS, where she continues to thrive with many friends. Now 15, she’s still playful—especially when chasing tennis balls—and spends her days surrounded by love, whether with her favorite toys, her dad during afternoon naps, or the caring team at Olive Juice when we travel.
