On Friday, July 17, 2026, Livingston County Habitat for Humanity invites you to join a race that tells a deeper story, one of resilience, community, and the belief that every family deserves a safe place to call home. Join the inaugural Halfway to Hell 5–10K Run, located in Pinckney, Michigan, at the Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park. This event unites runners who are fueled to do good and help our local neighbors finish the race towards safe, affordable housing.
Livingston County is home to 13,788 veterans and a 28% ALICE population (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), families living one unexpected repair away from crisis. Habitat stands in that gap, providing critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and affordable homeownership that prevent displacement and restore dignity. A donation of $100 or more earns runners a commemorative race hat, symbolizing their commitment to hope in action.
This race is more than a starting gun and a finish line; it’s a call for community. Join us at the start/finish line behind Community Congregational Church, where cheers, pom-poms, and shared purpose lift every runner
forward. Picture the people we serve, veterans regaining independence, seniors aging safely at home, families rebuilding stability; crossing their own finish lines because you showed up.
Afterward, relax in our Oasis Reception Area with hydration support from Beauchamp Water Treatment, wellness care from PEAK Physical Therapy, and community partnership from Hamburg Fitness Center & Camp. The race begins at 6:00 p.m., whether you run fast, walk steadily, or stand and cheer, your presence helps families move from uncertainty to strength.
