There has never been a more exciting time to explore our own backyard. This summer, the energy across the United States is absolutely electric. Not only are we celebrating the USA’s milestone 250th anniversary, but we also hosted the 2026 FIFA World Cup (and, of course, had the Knicks’ NBA Championship Win!).

People from every corner of the globe flooded our cities, bringing an incredible global energy with them. They are coming to experience everything that makes American culture so distinct—our diverse food scene, our music, our historic landmarks, and our unmatched hospitality. Seeing our country through the eyes of international visitors is a beautiful reminder of just how much there is to see, do, and explore right here at home.

Whether you want to dive into deep historical roots, relax on pristine coastlines, or marvel at natural wonders, the options for a domestic getaway are truly endless. In fact, I’m practicing what I preach—this summer, my family and I are heading out west to experience the jaw-dropping depths of the Grand Canyon and the stunning red rocks of Utah firsthand!

  • A Deep Dive Into American History. With the 250th anniversary in full swing, it’s the perfect year to walk the Freedom Trail in Boston, visit Independence Hall in Philadelphia, or explore the monuments and world-class museums of Washington, D.C. History is truly coming alive this summer.
  • Pacific Northwest Wilderness & Wine. For a mix of dramatic landscapes and sophisticated relaxation, head northwest. Spend your days hiking through the lush, misty rainforests of Olympic National Park or staring into the deep blue of Crater Lake, then unwind with a glass of world-class Pinot Noir in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
  • A Culinary and Cultural City Hop. Celebrate America’s melting pot of flavors by planning a city-centric getaway. Taste your way through the world-famous food scene of New York City, catch live jazz and eat incredible Creole cuisine in New Orleans, or experience the distinct music, food, and culture of Austin, Texas.
