Why do I need you? Can’t I do all this on my own?

Consumers may feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume and complexity of options available. I make it a priority to explore the options to find the plan that best fits my clients’ needs. Everyone’s situation is different and there isn’t one plan that fits everyone’s needs. That’s how I help. I am a licensed insurance broker with HealthMarkets. I am appointed with several different insurance companies, not just one. That means I can help find the plan that best fits your needs from a larger selection of plans than just one company offers.

I just signed up for my plan last year, do I really need to review it again?

Yes, I highly recommend that you review your plan every year. Especially this year as a new rule came out stating we have to re-enroll all of our clients, there will be no roll over like previously. Each year plans might change, and you could be better off with another plan that might have lower copays, lower deductibles, and/or lower monthly premiums. In addition, you might be able to get a more comprehensive plan at the same or lower cost than you are currently paying.

Is there a certain time that someone can enroll in a Health Insurance Plan?

The Affordable Care Act, or ACA, Special Enrollment Period runs traditionally from November 1st through December 15th for a January 1 effective date. However, this year they will extend it once more from December 16th through January 15th for a February 1st effective date.  Consumers need to keep in mind that the sooner they take advantage of this Special Enrollment Period, the sooner they can begin to see savings. They may also be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period due to loss of coverage, moving to another area, or various other reasons. If they think they have a special circumstance, they should give me a call and let me help by discussing their situation further.

How can our viewers contact you?
