Your Guide to Looking & Feeling Your Best This Season

The holiday calendar rarely waits for us to catch up. Before long, the question shifts from “What am I wearing?” to “What can I do now to look and feel refreshed?” The answer depends on two things: your goal and your timeline.

Some treatments are designed to improve the skin gradually over several weeks or months. Others need time to settle, while certain treatments are best reserved for the final days before an event. Planning ahead can make the difference between feeling rushed and feeling confident.

At Behold Aesthetics & Wellness Center, education and innovation are at the heart of what we do. The best treatment is not necessarily the newest or most aggressive option. It is the treatment that fits your skin, your goals, your health and the amount of time you have before the celebration.

Use this guide to map out your holiday treatment timeline – from long-term correction and collagen support to last-minute skin preparation – and to understand when it is best to plan, pause or simply keep your routine consistent.

6–12 Weeks Before: Think Correction & Collagen

If your goal is to improve pigmentation, sun damage, texture, fine lines, acne scarring or skin laxity, give yourself time.

Treatments such as laser resurfacing, IPL, RF microneedling and other collagen-stimulating procedures work differently from a facial. Instead of simply making the surface of the skin look refreshed, these technologies are designed to create controlled stimulation within the skin and initiate its natural repair and remodeling processes.

Some treatments may involve redness, swelling, peeling or social downtime. And while you may notice early improvements, collagen remodeling continues for weeks – and sometimes months – after treatment.

Don’t schedule an aggressive treatment for the first time immediately before an important event. Plan early, allow your skin to heal and let biology do what biology does best.

3–4 Weeks Before: It’s Tox Time

Neuromodulators such as Botox®, Dysport®, Daxxify® and Xeomin® temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity responsible for dynamic expression lines.

While people often begin noticing changes within several days, the final result isn’t immediate. Different products have slightly different onset and duration profiles, and every patient responds differently.

Scheduling several weeks before an important event provides time for the treatment to fully settle and allows your provider to evaluate the result if needed.

And remember: The goal doesn’t have to be a frozen face. Thoughtful treatment should preserve expression while creating a rested, refreshed appearance that still looks like you.

2–4+ Weeks Before: Filler & Biostimulators Need a Plan

Dermal fillers can restore volume, enhance facial proportions and soften certain folds or shadows. But filler should never be treated like a last-minute beauty appointment. Bruising and swelling can occur, and some areas naturally require more recovery time than others.

Biostimulatory injectables are different. Rather than relying solely on immediate volume, products such as Sculptra® and Radiesse® can be used strategically to support collagen production over time. Their best results develop gradually, which means planning well before the holiday party season.

One of the biggest changes in modern aesthetics is a move away from simply asking, “Where can we put filler?” Instead, a comprehensive facial assessment considers skin quality, volume, muscle movement, bone structure, proportions and the aging process as a whole.

Sometimes the best treatment is an injectable. Sometimes it’s a device. Sometimes it’s skincare. And sometimes the best recommendation is to do nothing at all.

1–2 Weeks Before: Focus on Healthy, Glowing Skin

This is the time to prioritize treatments that hydrate, exfoliate and improve the appearance of the skin without significant downtime.

HydraFacial® treatments are popular before events because they combine cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration. Dermaplaning can remove surface buildup and fine vellus hair, creating a smoother canvas for skincare and makeup.

For many patients, this isn’t the time to dramatically change their face. It’s the time to make healthy skin look its best.

24–72 Hours Before: Keep It Simple

If your event is only a few days away, resist the temptation to suddenly try everything.

This is generally not the moment for an aggressive laser treatment, a first-time injectable or a brand-new skincare regimen filled with active ingredients. Instead, think hydration, gentle skincare and consistency.

And please – don’t decide three days before Christmas photos that it’s finally time to start every retinol, acid and exfoliant in your bathroom. Your skin prefers consistency over panic.

At Behold, aesthetics and wellness intersect because looking well and feeling well belong together. True health goes beyond surface appearance, addressing deeper issues like exhaustion, sleep struggles, low energy, and body composition changes through comprehensive evaluations of nutrition, hydration, metabolic health, hormone health, lifestyle, and lab work. Rather than relying on social media checklists or treating arbitrary numbers, proper medical care requires asking questions, taking thorough personal histories, and creating individualized plans to address complex symptoms like fatigue, mood shifts, and libido changes.

With rapid advancements in skincare, injectables, devices, and wellness trends, innovation must be paired with education to prevent patients from simply chasing trends. Patients should fully understand a treatment’s purpose, realistic expectations, risks, downtime, and alternatives before proceeding, and providers should always welcome these questions. Ultimately, especially during the holiday season, aesthetic medicine isn’t about looking like someone else; Behold’s philosophy centers on evidence-informed, intentional care that helps individuals look and feel like the best, most authentic version of themselves.
