Meet the Expert

Beautiful nails may be what first catches the eye, but a great salon experience is also about the care, skill, and attention behind every service. At Charis Nails Lounge, that philosophy extends from thoughtful hygiene practices to the artists who make each guest feel welcome—including nail artist and specialist Peter.

With five years of experience in the nail industry, Peter brings both artistry and precision to every service. Known for his gentle personality, professionalism, and courteous approach, he makes every guest feel comfortable and valued.

Specializing in Acrylic, Dip Powder, and Hybrid Gel, Peter is also a talented nail artist who enjoys bringing custom designs to life. Whether creating a timeless, elegant look or something unique and artistic, he approaches every set with patience, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for his craft.

That same attention to detail reflects the larger philosophy behind Charis Nails Lounge, where beauty isn’t simply about the finished result. It begins with creating an environment where guests can feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in the services they receive.

Beauty Begins With Thoughtful Care

A pedicure should offer more than a beautiful finish. It should begin with thoughtful hygiene practices that protect both the guest receiving the service and the technician providing it.

Before opening Charis Nails Lounge, my partners and I each brought more than a decade of experience in the nail and beauty industry. Those years shaped our belief that nail care is about appearance, comfort, and the responsibility we have toward everyone in the salon.

Understanding infection risks is part of that responsibility. Fungal infections can spread through contact with infected skin or contaminated equipment. Certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV), a virus rather than a bacterium, cause warts on the hands and feet and can spread through contact with infected skin or contaminated objects. Small breaks in the skin can provide an entry point for infection. Technicians can also face exposure while working closely with clients.

What should guests look for? Fresh single-use items, clean towels, and tools and foot baths that are properly cleaned and disinfected between clients are meaningful details. A disposable basin liner adds a barrier, but it does not replace proper cleaning of the basin and its components. Guests should feel comfortable asking how reusable tools are processed and which items are discarded after each service.

For technicians, consistent hand hygiene, appropriate glove use, and careful handling of tools are equally important. Guests can help by mentioning cuts, unusual nail changes, or skin concerns before their appointment. Suspected infections deserve medical evaluation rather than cosmetic coverage.

These principles helped shape our vision for Charis. Our investment in pedicure hygiene comes from a desire to reduce avoidable risks and support the well-being of our guests and team.

We chose the word “Lounge” because we envisioned a place where people could slow down, feel welcome, and relax. To us, that sense of ease begins with the care taken before a service even starts.
