Charming Moments: Building Story-Filled Bracelets at David House Jewelry

The new year always brings about reflection in our household and sharing of family memories throughout the past 12 months. When I asked my daughters about 2025 as a year, their responses of gratitude made me smile: a healthy family, exciting sports seasons with new skills unlocked, a new baby cousin, family trips, a driver’s permit, backhand springs, and more. This recounting of memorable 2025 stories reminded me of the very foundation my dad has built DHJ on – every piece of jewelry has a story behind it. As we move into the new year, this got me thinking of one of my most valuable pieces of jewelry – my charm bracelet.
I was gifted a charm bracelet by my parents in fifth grade. It is filled with momentous occasions and triumphs, new hobbies and interests, and wonderful vacation memories. A softball, a dance shoe, a music note are surrounded by a sister charm, an Eiffel tower, a rose, and more. I still wear it, and my girls love looking through the charms and hearing stories of when I was their age.
Coincidentally, both of my daughters were given charm bracelets by a dear great-aunt, and they look forward to each added charm and the story it tells of that point in their lives. I can’t wait to see their faces when they see their new charm they will get for Valentine’s Day! They treasure their bracelet so much that they have gifted each of their best friends a charm bracelet.
