My Funny Valentine: Our Song
My Funny Valentine: Our Song is a joyful, genre-hopping musical comedy about a girl on a mission to find the perfect love song—and maybe true love along the way. With the help of a reluctant fairy godmother’s assistant, she travels through decades of iconic hits, diva ballads, and dance-floor anthems. But the more songs they try, the more she wonders: does the perfect love song even exist… or is love a little more offbeat.
“I’ve been thinking about this show for nearly two years so it feels incredible to see it finally coming to stage,” said Rachelle Rediger, who wrote this year’s script and is co-directing the production with Lisa Rediger. “I just wanted to honor the great love songs that make us all feel special, and I wanted to do it while showcasing the power of female friendship. We have so many incredible female actors in our community and I feel like most stage shows feature men, which I love, but I really wanted to shine light on the girls! And what better way than through an unexpected friendship.”
Featuring a cast of 29 actors and the Valentine Band, My Funny Valentine: Our Song is Magic Circle Players’ annual benefit production, with all of the proceeds this year designated for the purchase of the land on which the theatre sits. You get to experience a delightful evening of live theatre magic and contribute to the ongoing success, longevity, and legacy of Magic Circle Players.
“The show is full of humor, songs that everyone knows, and heart,” said Rachelle Rediger, “not to mention the original song we wrote that you won’t get to hear anywhere else. I’m so honored that Magic Circle Players trusted me to write this show and I hope it’s not my last!”
You have the option of a show-only ticket (February 5-8) for $45 or the VIP wine pairing dinner at the Stone House on Thursday, February 5th for $125. Dinner will be a chef chosen menu, complete with wine pairings. Dinner will be served at 5pm, allowing plenty of time to get to the theatre for a 7:30pm curtain time. You may have your choice of seating: a two top for you and your date, a four top for two couples, a three top for a group of friends, or a ten top to make new acquaintances or share with your golfing group.
