New Year, New You at Tamar Dupre Salon

Does 2026 feel like the perfect year to set your intention for something new? Does it provide the perfect backdrop to continue on your current path? Or, more simply, does the New Year feel like a good time to pause and reflect on the year that has passed with no expectation of what is to come? The New Year typically comes with a vibrant energy, just as anything new that we’ve been anticipating creates the hope of excitement and joy. We stylists are always especially excited to discover what is new and exciting in the beauty industry, and 2026 predictions do not disappoint!

Bobs and Bangs and Blowouts, Oh My! Although highly textured cuts are still in high demand, the classic Bob is having a moment, with a twist. The updated look comes with a more natural finish, rather than a super structured, Blown Dry and Flat-ironed look.

When styling to meet the current trends, think “frothy” and “soft”. Air drying and/or diffusing with product to lightly control frizz and provide style support is something we are seeing quite a lot of. Don’t get me wrong, the Bombshell Blowout is still everywhere, but so are these softer finishes.

Bangs with a wispier interior and a more narrow look, with longer side sweeps, are the quickest way to update your look and be totally on-trend. Nicole Kidman first debuted these in October 2025, and now they’re everywhere!

Makeup Looks to try in January and Beyond!
The Statement Lip has been spotted all over the runways, and a bold lip color is another super quick way to update and change your look. From Bright Pigments and Dark-lined lips with a lighter interior, choose a new shade or technique and see where the confidence takes you! Winged Eyeliner has again taken flight! You may have kept this beautiful trend all along, but we’re seeing a new resurgence of the “wing”. Whether in black or dusty brown, Smokey or Solid, this look is a classic! Glowing skin is key! We are seeing a departure from some of the more “dewey” or wet looks of past years, to foundation applications that seem to glow from within. A velvety finish is ever-popular, with the look of healthy skin being the ultimate goal.

With amazing timing, we just brought in our Skincare Makeup line, Jane Iredale, and would love to help you find your new favorite makeup routine!

We hope this article has provided some fun beauty inspiration to think about for a new look or update.
