Do it Now! You Never Know What the Future Holds

When talking to people about their travel plans, I always give this advice……….Do it now!  You never know what the future holds.  Do you have the time?  Do you have the money?  Do you have the desire?  If the answer to all these questions is yes, then, Do It Now!  So many people I talk to have expressed regret that they did not travel while they still could.

Traveling now instead of waiting can be one of the most rewarding decisions you make—here’s why:

1. Time Isn’t Guaranteed

You can always make more money, but you can’t make more time. Life circumstances change: health, family obligations, careers, and other responsibilities may make it harder to travel later.

2. Prices May Keep Rising

With inflation, fluctuating airline costs, and increasing demand, travel may get more expensive. Traveling now could save you money compared to waiting for a “better time” that never comes.

3. Experiences Over Possessions

Memories and personal growth from travel often outweigh the value of material things. You’ll never regret watching a sunrise in a new place, trying new foods, or meeting people from different cultures.

4. The World Is Changing

Places evolve quickly—climate change, development, or political instability can affect destinations. Some experiences might not be available in the future.

5. You Learn More About Yourself

Travel pushes you out of your comfort zone. You gain confidence, independence, and a broader worldview that directly impacts your personal and professional life.

6. There’s No “Perfect” Time

Waiting for the ideal moment (more money, more time, better weather, fewer obligations) can be a trap. There will always be reasons to delay—unless you just go.

7. Mental Reset

Travel is a powerful way to reset mentally. If you’re feeling stuck, burned out, or uninspired, a change of scenery can bring clarity and renewed energy.

8. You’ll Build Unforgettable Stories

When you look back, it’s the adventures, the spontaneity, the mishaps, and the people you meet that define your best memories—not the time you spent waiting.

Bottom line: If the opportunity is there and you’re able, don’t wait. Go. The future is uncertain, but the experience you gain from traveling now will stay with you forever.
