February 2026 Happenings From Auburn Parks and Recreation

February is full of creativity, celebration, and community connection with Auburn Parks and Recreation. From family traditions to hands-on art and inspiring performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this month.

The 2026 Juried Photography Biennial Exhibition continues at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center through Feb. 26. This competitive show features exceptional works by photographers and artists from across Alabama and neighboring Georgia counties, showcasing a stunning range of technique, creativity, and storytelling through the lens.

Next, don your masks and dancing shoes for one of Auburn’s most beloved annual traditions—the 36th Annual Daddy Daughter Date Night, held Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7, from 6:30–9 p.m. at the Wire Road Soccer Complex. This year’s theme, “Masquerade,” invites daughters, dads, granddads, and uncles to enjoy an evening filled with dancing, food, games, and memories to last a lifetime. Special guests will also make appearances throughout the night. Tickets are $20 for fathers, $20 for the first daughter, and $5 for each additional daughter, with discounts reflected on the final payment screen. Participants must live or work in the City of Auburn, and families should be sure to register for the same night.

The celebration continues the next day as the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center hosts Day in Clay on Saturday, Feb. 7. Visit the JDCAC’s brand-new ceramics studio for an open house featuring snacks, live demonstrations, and hands-on clay workshops offered hourly for $10 per participant. Space is limited, and registration is available online only. Workshops are available for both children and adults, and finished pieces will be ready for pick-up between March 7 and April 7.

Later in the month, Auburn Parks and Recreation and Special Olympics Lee County will host the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament, taking place Feb. 24–26. This annual event brings athletes, volunteers, and community supporters together for three days of fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.

The month concludes with a touch of theater as the Auburn Area Community Theatre Young Performers present “Peter/Wendy” by Jeremy Bloom. Performances will be held Feb. 27–28. Drawing inspiration from J.M. Barrie’s Peter and Wendy and The Little White Bird, this reimagined version explores the wonder and bittersweet beauty of growing up while capturing the timeless magic of Neverland.

From elegant evenings and creative workshops to inspiring art and community spirit, February in Auburn offers countless ways to connect, create, and celebrate together.
