Full Circle: Love, Leadership, and Better Sleep
February is a natural time to focus on care and connection. In our practice, that means building trust, strengthening relationships, and maintaining a shared commitment to your health.
I am proud to welcome Dr. Laurie Strand to Foundations Sleep Apnea & Airway, where she will lead our sleep apnea services. This partnership is especially meaningful to me, as it marks a professional reconnection—Dr. Strand sold her general practice to me in 2017—and reflects our shared vision for patient-centered care and whole-body wellness. Dr. Strand brings exceptional skill, compassion, and leadership to a field that has the power to truly change lives.
Sleep apnea is more than snoring or poor sleep. It is a serious medical condition in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, placing strain on the heart and brain. Left untreated, it has been linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, and chronic fatigue. Many people live for years with symptoms such as morning headaches, daytime exhaustion, or difficulty concentrating without realizing the underlying cause. With proper diagnosis and treatment, quality of life and long-term health can improve dramatically. Studies show that people with sleep apnea decrease their lifespan by up to 10 years.
Dr. Strand is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She has advanced experience in dental sleep medicine and is committed to continuing education and expanding her knowledge base in this field. She is an active collaborator with sleep physicians, internal medicine physicians, cardiologists and others in the medical community to assure her patients receive the best possible care. At Foundations, our ability to coordinate sleep testing and bill medical insurance helps ensure patients receive advanced, supportive care through a streamlined and accessible process.
As women business owners and healthcare professionals, Dr. Strand and I believe deeply in collaboration and in lifting others up. This partnership ensures patients feel supported every step of the way—through clear communication, coordinated care, and treatment plans designed to help them breathe easier, sleep better, and improve their overall health.
This February, love looks like better sleep, better health, and a better quality of life.
