EMU Celebrates 10 Years of LovEMU: Join Us for the Next Record
Students, faculty, and staff from Eastern Mennonite University are busy gearing up for the 10th annual LovEMU Giving Day on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026. The 24-hour fundraising extravaganza is the university’s biggest giving day of the year and features a full schedule of fun giving challenges, campus-wide activities, and spirited celebrations, including a high-energy pep rally open to the whole Shenandoah Valley community.
Each giving day, EMU alumni, donors and friends come together to celebrate the university they love and support its mission to develop leaders who are transformative, compassionate, and driven. With their help—and yours—we can make a difference in the lives of our students and teachers by contributing to scholarships and financial aid, investing in faculty and staff, equity and belonging initiatives, and much more.
Current EMU Seminary student Makinto shares, “We felt at home here. Everyone felt like family. It would be impossible for us to finance two degrees if it weren’t for the generosity of the donors. We’re very grateful for that.”
Makinto’s wife, Mukarabe, is also a current student with EMU’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding. Making a gift during LovEMU Giving Day is a direct investment in students like Makinto, Mukarabe and more.
EMU invites YOU in the community of the Shenandoah Valley to help them break a new giving day record! Last year’s heartfelt outpouring of support from all members of the community resulted in a record-shattering $365,313 raised. That total was 7% higher than the previous year’s record.
This is proof that EMU may be small in size, but the strength and heart of its community are truly mighty.
LovEMU Giving Day organizer Nicole Litwiller says a highlight for her is seeing the community come together each year to celebrate their EMU pride.
“Thanks to their support, LovEMU Giving Day is always a huge success, and we hope to beat last year’s record once again,” she said. “I’m so grateful to everyone who shows their support.”
