When I opened our Midland showroom, I wanted to create something different — a place where you could find furniture worth keeping, not just furniture worth buying. Over the years, this community has welcomed us in a way that still means the world to me and to everyone on our team.
By the time you read this, you may have noticed some changes at our store on Ashman Circle — or you may still see the familiar Midland Furniture Garage name on the building. Either way, I want you to hear this directly from me: we’re becoming Harrison West – Midland.
The reason is straightforward: we grew. What started as a single showroom in Clarkston in 2008 is now three Harrison West locations across Michigan: Clarkston, Grandville, and Midland, plus our specialty boutique, ScandiComfort, in Rochester Hills. But having different names for every store made it harder for people to realize we’re all connected. If you loved working with us in Midland, you might not have known you could walk into our Clarkston or Grandville showrooms and get the same quality, expertise, and commitment to finding the right piece for your home.
Harrison West unifies our stores under one name to make the connection clear. It’s not a change in ownership. It’s not a change in the people you’ll see when you walk in. And it’s not a change in what we believe: that great furniture should be comfortable, well-made, and worth the investment.
What you will notice is a sharper focus. Over the past several years, we’ve learned which brands our customers come back for again and again; manufacturers like Fjords and Stressless, whose Norwegian craftsmanship and comfort technology have become a signature of what we do, Norwalk, whose custom options let you design a piece that’s truly yours, and our own Private Harrison Collection, which delivers the quality you’d expect from us at an accessible price point. Harrison West is the result of listening to what matters most to you and building around it.
The signage, our website, and the way you find us online will all reflect the new name. But the showroom, the team, and the experience will feel exactly like what you already know. If anything, it should feel better because now when you walk in, you’re connected to a network of showrooms and designers across the state, all working together to help you create a home you love.
