Southwest Longmont: Where Lifestyle and Landscape Meet

Back to Articles

There is something special happening in Southwest Longmont. Tucked against open countryside with sweeping mountain views, yet minutes to Boulder, this corner of town offers a lifestyle that feels both connected and grounded. Established neighborhoods, newer subdivisions, townhomes, and apartments blend, creating options for professionals commuting to Boulder, growing families, and those ready to right-size without leaving the community they love.

The recent market snapshot for our southwest area shows a wide range of homes, from the mid $400s to over $2.7 million, with properties selling at an average of 99% of list price means that kind of activity reflects what many of us already know. People want to be here. And it is not just about the homes. It is Saturday mornings at Lagerman Reservoir and Pella Crossing. It is bikes on the trails and excitement around the new path connection coming along 119 that will make access even better. It is proximity to Boulder without Boulder prices. It is having the Longmont airport right here for convenience. It is watching the sun set over open fields and still being five minutes from coffee.

Speaking of coffee, we are lucky. The Bearded Brewer brings the community together in the best way. Spruce Coffee is a local staple. Ziggi’s continues to energize our mornings. Dinner at Sakura, Protos or Duets never disappoints. These are gathering spaces that make this area feel personal. Families appreciate having elementary, middle, and high schools right here in the neighborhood. Kids ride bikes to class. Neighbors know each other. The backdrop is farmland and foothills, instead of congestion. It still feels like Colorado.

What I love most about Southwest Longmont is the balance. Growth is happening. We remain a destination state, welcoming people from all over, yet this corner of town has maintained its warmth and accessibility. There truly is something for everyone. Single-family homes, patio homes, townhomes, apartments, larger estates backing to open space, and properties with room to grow.

If you ever want to talk real estate, whether you are wondering if finishing your basement makes sense, debating a renovation, or simply curious what your home is worth, I am always happy to connect. Conversations about home do not have to mean you are moving tomorrow. Sometimes they simply mean you care about where you live. And Southwest Longmont is absolutely worth caring about.
