Travel, Community & Connection: Cruise Planners Beth & Rod Announce 2026 Events Supporting Local Causes

Back to Articles

If you enjoy travel inspiration, lively community gatherings, and supporting meaningful local causes, Cruise Planners Beth Borrego and Rod Rodriguez have a year of exciting events ahead to share with you. The Germantown-based travel advisors are unveiling their 2026 program schedule, designed to spark travel dreams while raising funds for organizations doing important work in our community.

As top-producing franchise owners and members of the Cruise Planners Millionaire Club, Beth and Rod are known for creating unforgettable travel experiences. Their events have also become a welcoming way for neighbors, friends, and clients to connect, discover destinations, and give back to local charities.

The season begins Thursday, April 16, at Botanero Restaurant in Rockville with an evening featuring Virgin Voyages. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 p.m. for the best seating, with the program beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Attendees will enjoy complimentary tapas and non-alcoholic beverages, with a cash bar available. Beth and Rod will open the evening before introducing Rainbow Place Shelter, which will share its mission and the people it serves. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised will benefit the organization, and Cruise Planners Beth and Rod will match contributions up to $500.

Guests will then hear from Virgin Voyages about the cruise line’s innovative approach to sailing. The evening concludes with a performance by DMV entertainer Nubia Love-Jackson, bringing music, energy, and unforgettable flair to the night.

Travel inspiration continues Sunday, May 31, when Cruise Planners Beth and Rod partner with AmaWaterways for a matinee at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. The featured film, Under the Tuscan Sun, transports viewers to the romantic landscapes and villages of Italy.

Guests are encouraged to arrive at 2:45 p.m. for the best seating, with the program beginning at 3:00 p.m. and running until 5:30 p.m. Beth and Rod will offer brief remarks before Manna Food Center shares how they support families across Montgomery County. Representatives from AmaWaterways will also introduce guests to river cruising and preview a special travel experience currently in development.

Guests will enjoy complimentary afternoon movie snacks, creating the perfect relaxed matinee atmosphere. All proceeds from the event benefit Manna Food Center, and Beth and Rod will again match contributions up to $500. Guests are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items.

The crown jewel of the season will be Cruise Planners Beth and Rod’s annual Travel Show on Saturday, September 12, at the BlackRock Center for the Arts. This popular event sold out last year and promises to be even bigger and better this year.

Doors open at 9:00 a.m. so guests can meet travel vendors before presentations begin. The program features multiple travel partners, inspiring presentations, and a complimentary lunch. A relaxed mid-program break allows time to browse vendor tables and explore exciting travel opportunities.

This year’s Travel Show benefits Comfort Cases, supporting children entering foster care. Guests will learn about their important work, and Beth and Rod will once again match contributions up to $500.

The event has quickly become a favorite community gathering for travelers throughout the area with friends, neighbors, and travelers.

Mark your calendars and register early. These gatherings promise travel inspiration, meaningful community connections, memorable entertainment, and the opportunity to support outstanding local charities while planning future adventures together.
