At HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, we’re celebrating a milestone that has allowed more men in our community to get back to living life on their terms. We’ve now performed our 100th Aquablation therapy procedure—a minimally invasive treatment for men dealing with the everyday challenges of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH).
A Solution for Everyday Life
BPH is common, especially as men get older, and can bring frustrating symptoms like frequent trips to the bathroom, weak urine flow and trouble fully emptying the bladder. These issues can disrupt sleep, work, travel and time with family and friends. Aquablation therapy, introduced at St. Elizabeth’s in 2023, is designed to help men reclaim their routines and enjoy a more active, comfortable lifestyle.
How Aquablation Therapy Works
Aquablation therapy uses advanced robotic technology to treat BPH without incisions or heat. Guided by detailed imaging, the treatment is customized to your unique anatomy. A gentle, precisely controlled waterjet removes the prostate tissue causing symptoms—usually in under an hour. Most men go home the next day and can return to their favorite activities soon after.
Focused on Your Quality of Life
Unlike some traditional surgeries, Aquablation therapy is designed to relieve symptoms while reducing the risk of side effects like incontinence or sexual dysfunction. The goal is to help men feel like themselves again—confident, active and free from the daily disruptions of BPH.
Is Aquablation Therapy Right for You?
If you’re experiencing symptoms of an enlarged prostate, talk with your primary care provider or urologist.
