This summer, the lawns of Kirkland Gardens in Ladner will come alive with laughter, friendly competition, and a sense of community at the Delta Community Foundation’s 2nd annual Croquet for Community Fundraiser. Set for August 20, 2026, the event promises another day of fun, connection, and giving back to the local community, building on the success of last year’s inaugural event.
Guests can enjoy the charm of the picturesque grounds while playing croquet, sampling refreshments, and enjoying live entertainment. But the event is about more than just a game. It is an opportunity to support the Delta Community Foundation in a meaningful way. “Croquet for Community is the perfect way to enjoy a sunny afternoon while supporting the people and programs that make Delta stronger,” said Event Chair Gillian Lowrey.
The Delta Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of residents across Delta. By bringing together donations from individuals, families, businesses, and organizations, the Foundation is able to provide grants to local nonprofits and community projects that address the unique needs of donors and charities. These include initiatives in education, healthcare, the arts, and social services, ensuring that a broad range of community needs are supported.
Beyond grantmaking, the Foundation manages endowments, donor-advised funds, donor-directed funds, and other giving programs, allowing donors to support the causes they care about most. This professionally managed stewardship ensures that every gift, large or small, can have a lasting impact. With a focus on immediate and long-term community needs, the Delta Community Foundation fosters positive change across the region, helping Delta residents today and building a legacy for the future.
Tickets for the Croquet for Community Fundraiser are now available, and local businesses can also get involved through sponsorship opportunities. Those interested in sponsoring the event can contact Event Coordinator, Georgia Hoar, at georgiahoar@deltafoundation.org to learn more. Social tickets will also be available for anyone who would like to support the event, but is unable to participate in the tournament. Supporting the event is an opportunity for companies to express their commitment to the Delta community while helping strengthen the work of local charities.
All proceeds from Croquet for Community go toward supporting the Foundation’s efforts to sustain programs that make a real difference in Delta. From food security initiatives and mental health services to emergency shelters, the Foundation’s work reaches the areas of greatest need in the community. By supporting the event, participants help ensure the Foundation can continue responding to evolving local needs and creating impact that lasts year after year.
For participants, Croquet for Community is more than just an afternoon of sport and entertainment. It’s a chance to have fun, connect with neighbours, and make a real difference in Delta. Teams of two can enter the tournament, or you can support the event as a sponsor.
