At Doc Motor Works in Plainfield, fixing cars is only part of the job. Owner Scott Wisneski built his shop on a simple promise: “We fix your car as though your Father is watching.”
That philosophy runs through every service bay, from oil changes to brake repairs. It’s about integrity, care, and treating every customer like family. “Every person who calls our shop is dealing with some kind of pain,” Wisneski said. “Maybe their car won’t start, maybe they’ve got a flat tire. We’re here to take that stress away—not add to it.”
Step into Doc Motor Works and the family feeling is unmistakable. The waiting area is lined with photos from Scott’s own life—including his prom picture with the woman who would become his wife. It’s a reminder that this is a local business built on personal connection.
Wisneski opened Doc Motor Works in Shorewood in 2014 and moved the shop to its new Plainfield location in the spring of 2025. His career began early—at age 12, lying in the snow to help fix the family car. Inspired by his mechanic uncle, he learned not just the trade, but the deeper value of helping people get back on the road safely.
That same heart for service drives his community work today. Through Single Mom Saturday and Family Service Day, Scott and his team provide free vehicle maintenance and repairs to local families who need a hand. They partner with churches, schools, and suppliers who often donate parts or services to support the cause.
“It’s humbling to see how one repair can lift a weight off someone’s shoulders,” Wisneski said. “It’s not just a car—it’s their way to get to work, to get their kids to school, to keep life moving.”
Customers often step up, too, donating toward local drives or volunteering alongside the Doc Motor Works team.
Beyond the shop, Wisneski mentors Plainfield’s next generation. He leads small groups through Heart Haven Outreach (H2O), a nonprofit supporting teens in crisis, and serves as a coach for the INCubator program at Plainfield East and Plainfield Central High Schools, helping students turn business ideas into reality.
Whether under the hood or out in the community, Doc Motor Works keeps its focus on people–fixing cars with honesty, kindness, and care that would make any father proud.
