Where Memories Take Shape: Behind the Scenes at Stokelan Winery’s Event Season

Every year, as the days grow longer and weekends fill with gatherings, we here at Stokelan Winery find ourselves in what we fondly call “event season.” It’s a time that asks much of us, but the long hours, constant motion, and anticipation of exceeding expectations give even more in return. Because at the heart of every event is something deeply meaningful: people coming together to celebrate love, milestones, and one another.

This season, Ann came to us with a vision for her niece’s bridal shower, one that would feel less like a party and more like stepping into an Italian wedding. She imagined lemons and soft florals, the cheerful hum of an accordion, and the unmistakable warmth of Italy woven into every detail. When a key element, the lemon ice dessert, suddenly became unavailable just days before the event, it could have unraveled the plan. Instead, it revealed something special. Our chef, Valentina, quietly took it upon herself to create something from scratch. What she produced, a fresh, all-natural frozen lemon crème, was more than a dessert. It was care, effort, and heart, served in every spoonful.

Not every moment unfolds as expected. On Angela and Michael’s wedding day, the sky opened just as they prepared to exchange vows. But what could have been a disruption became something unforgettable. Behind the scenes, our team quickly adapted and shielded guests from the rain, while in front of it all, love carried on uninterrupted. There was something beautiful in how everyone leaned in, adapted, and supported one another. The rain did not diminish the day; it deepened it.

Throughout the season, we celebrated milestones both big and small. One family celebrated together as their three children graduated from elementary, middle, and high school — each marking a milestone on a path toward a future career in law or medicine. Each gathering carries its own story, its own pride, its own quiet emotion, and families creating memories.

And then there are the moments that feel especially close to home. Josh, who once joined us as a high school student unsure of even the smallest details, has grown into a confident adult. As he prepares to graduate from college, he returned to ask us to create a celebration for his grandmother’s significant birthday. Standing there with his family, seeing the roots of the person he has become, reminded us why we do what we do.

Because in the end, this isn’t just about events. It’s about people. It’s about creating spaces where memories take shape; moments that, long after the music fades, are held onto for a lifetime. Stokelan is about the experience, and we take immense pride and joy in creating unique, memorable events.
