Happy Birthday America! It is hard to believe our country is 250 years old. I remember in school learning about our history and because I grew up in Philly, many of our school trips were to Center City Philadelphia to see all the historical sites: going to Betsy Ross’s house, Christ Church and seeing the Liberty Bell (not in the correct location or behind the casing) was a real treat. Of course, when you are around 10 years old, you really don’t appreciate the experience, but now, as an adult, I do. What our founding fathers fought for, Our Freedom, is so very important, especially right now. That being said, let’s get to the fun stuff.
Since the June’s edition of the magazine came out, so many of you have called me to see how I am now. I appreciate all the emails and phone calls. At the same time, my website was being rebuilt and you were being re-routed to FB. Well, by the time you read this article, the new website should be up and running. I think you are going to like the brand-new look. The same company who puts this magazine together now has a new department that helps businesses like me get a fresh new look. Because I have been away for over a year, I want to remind you of my women’s travel club called Gals on the Go. We have a meeting every other month and our next meeting will be Wednesday, July 29th. There is an annual $15/pp fee to join. Besides the meeting, you will receive an email newsletter and lower pricing on most bus trips. Within the travel club, I also have another group of ladies that we call our VIP Gals. How do you join this new branch? It is a loyalty club just like the cruise lines have, and you earn points for the trips you go on. Membership for Gals on the Go is approximately 300 members strong and we keep growing every month. Visit one of our meetings and see what it is all about. Husbands are not permitted to attend the meetings, but they are welcome to join you on all of our trips, except for my Golden Girls Cruise.
Next month’s article will be about my Galapagos Islands cruise. I’m really excited about going and this will be my first major trip since my surgery. This is another destination on my bucket list.
