A Evening of Impact Sets a Record for Giving at Old Edwards Reserve at Lake Keowee

The community at Old Edwards Reserve at Lake Keowee has set a new standard for generosity. At  An Evening of Impact, held on campus on Sunday, June 7^th, members and supporters of The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation raised nearly $500,000, an all time record that nearly doubled last year’s previous high of $268,000.

It was an extraordinary evening that reflected the spirit of a community that has made giving back a defining part of life on campus. Combined with proceeds from the Foundation’s annual Charity Golf Classic held in October, these funds will be distributed to 21 local charities in December 2026, delivering meaningful support to neighbors throughout the Upstate.

For those unfamiliar with the Foundation, its work runs deep. Established in 2006, The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to elevate and enrich the lives of upstate neighbors in need. Participation is a shared commitment among all property owners within Old Edwards Reserve at Lake Keowee, a rare quality that makes philanthropy not just an occasional gesture but a foundational value woven into the fabric of the community itself.

 Over the past two decades, members have dedicated thousands of volunteer hours and distributed millions of dollars to dozens of local charitable organizations. The Foundation concentrates its outreach in Pickens County, where it focuses on three primary pillars: supporting lifelong learning through educational scholarships and literacy programs, ending hunger by partnering with organizations that provide nutritious meals to vulnerable children and seniors, and creating safe spaces for victims of abuse, individuals in recovery, and disabled veterans.

 The 21 charities benefiting from this year’s record fundraising represent the heart of that mission, organizations such as Pickens County Meals On Wheels, Family Promise of Pickens County, Safe Harbor, Neighborhood Cancer Connection, and Upstate Warrior Solution, among many others. Each provides essential services to families and individuals across the region.

“We are deeply grateful to those who contributed so generously during the event. What happened Sunday night was inspiring. More importantly, it will make a meaningful difference in the lives of people throughout our community.” said Rick Rother, Foundation Board Chair of The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation.
