I’m Aimee, and this summer, I’m the Marketing Intern at Vibe Credit Union! I’m a student at the University of Michigan pursuing degrees in Communication & Media and Vocal Performance. As a rising senior, I was eager to find an internship where I could grow my marketing skills while making a real impact for others. Lucky for me, Vibe Credit Union has been the perfect place to do just that!
You might be wondering, what does a marketing intern at a credit union do? Or, what does a summer spent working at Vibe look like?
Maybe you’re scrolling through your social media and see an advertisement for Vibe Credit Union pop up on your feed, or you’re driving home from work and notice a Vibe billboard. If you see Vibe mentioned in the wild, chances are, the marketing team helped make it happen!
As the marketing intern, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand what goes into bringing Vibe to the community through both our digital and in-person initiatives. At Vibe, our goal is to improve the financial well-being of our members by elevating community and creating opportunity. On the marketing team, that commitment is at the heart of everything we do. We’re always looking for ways to support our members on their financial journeys by connecting them to the products, people and services that will help them make empowered financial decisions and achieve their goals. Through our projects and campaigns, we work together to build our impact within the local communities we serve by connecting more people with all that Vibe has to offer.
One of my favorite parts of working at Vibe is that there’s always something exciting happening in our department. Every day brings new projects, fresh ideas and chances to innovate – and so much of that is inspired by our members! Everyone on my team has been eager to give me meaningful projects to work on, keeping my days busy and my creativity flowing.
Beyond collaborating on social media, building graphics and crafting new campaigns and events with the team, I have also had the opportunity to visit our branches and volunteer locally as part of our company commitment to community impact. Working together to provide support for local nonprofit organizations has been an incredibly meaningful experience that reflects the deep impact of the work we do.
As the summer comes to an end, I can truly say that Vibe’s mission and values are more than just words. The commitment to investing in the betterment and growth of real people and communities is truly reflected in the work we do every day. I’m grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a wonderful group of people and connect with so many of our incredible members throughout the summer. As I return to Ann Arbor, I know I’ll look back on this experience with great appreciation for everything I learned!
