What Are You Really Hiring?

Whether we realize it or not, brands influence many of the decisions we make every day.

Think about the vehicle you drive, the tools in your garage, or even the hotel you choose for vacation. We often gravitate toward brands that have earned our trust because they represent consistency, quality, service, and a reputation built over time. A strong brand doesn’t just identify a product—it gives us confidence in the experience we expect to receive.

Buying or selling a home is no different.

When people choose a real estate professional, they often ask, “Who should I hire?” That’s certainly important, but I believe an even better question is:

“What am I really hiring?”

In my mind, great representation is built on three layers: the individual agent, the local brokerage, and the global brand behind them. Each brings something different to the table, and together they create a stronger experience than any one could provide alone.

The First Layer: Your Agent

The first—and most personal—part of the equation is the real estate professional you choose.

A great agent does much more than unlock doors or write contracts. They serve as your advisor, strategist, negotiator, problem solver, and advocate throughout one of the largest financial decisions you’ll ever make.

That means understanding market conditions, accurately pricing homes, anticipating buyer behavior, developing negotiation strategies, and solving problems before they become obstacles.

In a market as unique as the Wasatch Back, local knowledge is especially valuable. Every neighborhood has its own character, pricing trends, buyer pool, and future plans. Two homes with similar square footage can have dramatically different values because of factors that don’t always appear on a listing sheet.

My goal has always been simple: to provide honest advice, clear communication, and thoughtful guidance so my clients can make confident decisions—not just successful transactions.

The Second Layer: Your Brokerage

Even the best real estate professional shouldn’t work alone.

Behind every successful transaction is often an experienced team working behind the scenes to help create the best possible outcome.

One of the reasons I chose Summit Sotheby’s International Realty is because of that collaborative approach. My clients benefit from experienced leadership, transaction management, legal resources, award-winning marketing professionals, and a culture where agents regularly collaborate and share opportunities.

That means when you hire me, you’re also benefiting from an entire team focused on presenting your property beautifully, navigating challenges efficiently, and helping your transaction move forward as smoothly as possible.

The Third Layer: The Global Brand

Finally, there’s the global platform standing behind it all.

The Sotheby’s name has represented trust and excellence for nearly 300 years, and today Sotheby’s International Realty connects local expertise with one of the world’s most respected real estate networks.

For sellers, that means your home benefits from worldwide marketing, international referrals, advanced technology, and exposure that extends well beyond our local market. For buyers, it means access to an extraordinary network of professionals and resources that can help whether you’re moving across town or across the globe.

The value of a respected brand isn’t simply the name. It’s the opportunities, relationships, and confidence that name helps create.

Bringing It All Together

When you hire a real estate professional, you’re not simply choosing one person.

You’re choosing the expertise of your agent, the support of their brokerage, and the reach of the brand standing behind them.

Each layer adds value on its own, but together they create a level of representation that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

That’s one of the reasons I chose to build my business with Summit Sotheby’s International Realty. It allows me to combine personal service and local market knowledge with the support of an exceptional team and one of the most recognized real estate brands in the world.
