Forget Resolutions That Burn Out by February
We all know the pattern: new year, big promises, quick fizzle. Traditional goal-setting only works when we’re deeply committed—so what do we do when motivation dips?
We start with something deeper: our core values. When you know who you are and what you stand for, your values naturally guide your choices, your priorities, and how you show up every single day.
Let’s break it down into four areas:
1. Mind: Your Inner Dialogue
What’s the first thing you say to yourself when you wake up?
Is it hopeful and grounded—or critical?
How you think shapes how you respond to the world.
If your mindset is “I have to prove everyone wrong,” then conflict may trigger anger or
defensiveness. But if your belief is “Do everything in love,” you’re more likely to pause, breathe, and solve problems calmly.
My own core beliefs: I am worthy, always enough, loved, and have purpose.
When I walk in that truth, I treat others the same way—because they are just as worthy, always enough, loved, and have purpose.
2. Body: The Way You Speak About Yourself
How do you talk about your physical self? Are you your own worst critic? If I wake up saying, “I’m in the worst shape of my life,” I’ll subconsciously make choices that reinforce it—skipping meals, grabbing takeout, giving up on movement, because why try?
But when I tell myself, “I’m in the best shape of my life”—even if I’m still on the journey—I
make decisions that align with that truth. I might cook something a little healthier, go for a walk, stretch, wake up a little earlier, or read something that sets a positive tone for the day. Your body listens to the story you tell it. Make it a good one.
3. Community: Your Circle Shapes Your Direction
Look at the people you spend the most time with—work, friends, your daily environment. Do they inspire you? Do they support your growth? Do they encourage the best version of you and call you out when you drift?
Your language, habits, mindset, and even your dreams are shaped by your inner circle.
In 2026, community matters more than ever—choose intentionally.
4. Spiritual: Your Source of Identity
For me, my identity, purpose, gifts, and calling come from God.
So each day, I’m choosing to lean into that relationship—because when I do, I naturally align myself with the right people, opportunities, and environments that help me live out my purpose fully and shine.
So in 2026, we can develop self awareness, define what we believe, our values, pay attention to our self talk, and who we spend time with and your habits WILL CHANGE for the better, and help you grow and lean into who you are supposed to be.
