Overnight, the rock salt has time to work on the roots inside the pipe, helping slow their growth. While this won’t fix the damaged pipe or eliminate the roots permanently, it can help manage the problem until you’re ready for a proper repair or replacement.
Keep in mind that recurring drain issues are often a sign of an underlying sewer line problem. If you’re experiencing frequent backups, gurgling toilets, or slow drains throughout your home, it’s a good idea to have your sewer line inspected before a small issue becomes a major one.
