At Water Doctors, we’ve always believed that water quality isn’t just about taste. It’s about health, comfort, and peace of mind. That’s one of the reasons we’ve been involved with Step Beyond Green to Healthy since the beginning. Even before it became an official nonprofit, we were working with the founding group to help raise awareness about healthier building and remodeling practices.
A lot of products in the home world get labeled as “green” or “eco-friendly.” But green doesn’t always mean healthy. Some of those products still use harsh chemicals, glues, or strong fragrances that can cause problems for people with asthma, allergies, or chemical sensitivities.
We take a different approach. When someone invites us into their home, we want to make sure we’re bringing in solutions that not only work but also support their health. We offer fragrance-free visits when requested, and we unbox our equipment at the warehouse to let any materials off-gas before we ever walk through the door. If a customer has sensitivities to adhesives, we skip them altogether and use alternate plumbing techniques like ProPress or PEX fittings that don’t rely on glue.
Our team is also trained to think beyond just what’s required. For example, if you’ve got skin that reacts to chlorine or chloramines in municipal water, we can help you understand why that might be happening and what options exist to remove those additives. And when it comes to drinking water, we carry reverse osmosis systems that are third-party certified to reduce a wide range of contaminants. These are not just better than a fridge filter. They are designed for homeowners who care about what’s in every glass.
This way of thinking isn’t just something we talk about. It runs through how we operate. We even apply it in our office with the cleaning supplies we use and how we train our staff.
John, our owner, has been the lead trainer for other contractors in the Step Beyond Green to Healthy network since it launched as a nonprofit. He’s also a regular speaker at local home shows, where he talks about things like water quality, material choices, and how seemingly small decisions in a home can impact long-term health.
So what does all this mean for you?
It means when you work with Water Doctors, you’re not just getting equipment. You’re working with people who take your health seriously. Whether you have a specific concern or just want to make smarter decisions about your home, we’re here to help you think beyond green and start thinking healthy.
Because water should be personal. And health starts at home.
