Reflect, Renew, Rise: A 2026 West Monroe Community Challenge
Happy New Year from Select Elite Coaching & Counseling Services!
As a life coach in West Monroe, LA, I desire to encourage my community to do self-examination for moral accountability during times of uncertainty in every aspect of community life; without sounding preachy or judgmental. As we enter into the Year 2026, I thought it would be both fun and enriching if we did a personal and private self-examination. “We grow as a community when we grow as individuals.”
Here are Simple Repeatable Self-Reflection Practices
Daily 5-Minute “Moral Check-In”
1. What did I do today that aligned with the person I want to be?
2. Where did I fall short, and what’s one thing I can fix tomorrow?
3. Who was affected by my choices?
4. What fear or stress drove my actions today?
5. What am I grateful for?
West Monroe could be “A place to grow, not a place to impress.” In other words, travelers and/or visitors would see and feel that there is something very special about our community and cause them to visit or stop to fuel up and eat. The feeling of genuine and surety would literally ooze from our presence because we did personal self-reflection to become our best selves and community.
It would be an amazing journey and application exercise during the month of January 2026 to journal the above 5 self-reflective answers. Then go back at the end of the 31 days and see yourself on paper without judgment or exposure. Only you will see the areas that could use some improvement or tweaking.
Frame Self-Examination as Hopeful, Not Heavy
“Self-examination is not about guilt—it’s about becoming the kind of person who lifts up our community during uncertain times.”
Here is a community challenge for church leaders, community activists and services, as well as businesses to share with their parishioners, employees, and volunteers to strengthen your organizations.
