Artificial Intelligence – Growth in 2026
AI has officially become the buzzword of almost any industry or sector these days. In prior Tech Corner articles, we have talked briefly about the topic, but where is it currently being used in 2026?
As a quick refresher, AI (Artificial Intelligence) refers to computer systems that are designed to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, learning, reasonings, problem solving, understanding language, recognizing patterns, and more, by analyzing enormous amounts of data at rapid speeds to make decisions and predictions.
As we begin 2026, AI has made a major change from trials and tests, to implementations and widespread usage by industries such as healthcare, logistics, finance, and scientific research. It’s now powering self-driving vehicles, our everyday smart watches, and enterprise software and applications.
Here are a few examples of tech we have talked about in prior tech corners where AI has already dramatically enhanced capabilities:
- Virtual assistants – Siri, Alexa, Google
- Smart Homes – Ring cameras, smart garages, energy optimization, smart thermostats
- Entertainment and Shopping – personalization for movies, music, products
- Navigation Systems – traffic analysis, updated route guidance, accident analysis
- Security Systems – security cameras, facial recognition, national security
You would have to live in a cave and under a rock not to be around an AI-driven device in 2026. In fact, studies report that 2026 will be “the year of AI” through advancements, as well as increase in legalities around utilization of AI.
