A Letter to the Woman Considering the Leap: Reflections on Courage, Community, and the Power of Trusting Yourself in Business
I am so incredibly honored to be in a community fully loaded with talented, smart, and bold female entrepreneurs. This town is saturated with women who have stepped out beyond their comfort zone to create, mentor, and hone their craft in a way that suits them.
I have been a Physical Therapist for 22 years and I am still learning how to do it right. Fortunately for me, I have had the support of family and an outstanding staff with years of experience as therapists and as captains of the ship to help me navigate various roadblocks. It truly takes a village, and I am beyond grateful for mine.
On days when I feel like an imposter, I remind myself of the many trials I’ve gone through in this business, how far I’ve come in my knowledge about what works and what doesn’t, and my ability to see a problem, stay calm, and pivot.
I can thank my faith, therapy and yoga for this skill set.
I believe women in business have a great advantage. We can step back and see things with an empathetic and compassionate viewpoint that allows us to make decisions that don’t create division but bring unity. We nurture in a way that can sustain a business in a healthy way that fosters loyalty and togetherness.
I hope this hits one of our readers who is hesitant to take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey. Is it scary? Yes! Is it worth it? Yes! Might it fail? Yes! Might it succeed? Yes! The greatest loss would ultimately be the regret you feel for not trying. I can’t quite add up the number of mistakes I’ve made along the way, but they culminated into a learning that I in no way regret. Every single positive outcome in my experience has far outweighed the so-called negatives.
Just go for it, girl!
