Moms Need Calm Too

If you’re a mom, chances are your nervous system is working overtime. Between kids, schedules, work, and trying to hold everything together, it can feel like you’re always “on.” And when you’re always on, your body never really gets a chance to rest.

Your nervous system is what helps you handle stress. When it’s balanced, you’re more patient, you sleep better, and the little things don’t set you off as much. When it’s overloaded, you might feel anxious, snappy, exhausted, or like you just need five minutes of quiet, and never get it.

Regulating your nervous system doesn’t mean you need a full spa day (although that would be nice). Sometimes it’s small things: a short walk, deep breaths in the car before going inside, turning off your phone, or sitting quietly before bed. For some moms, gentle plant-based options like CBD or low-dose THC can also help take the edge off and help the body relax after a long day.

CBD is commonly used for calm and sleep without feeling high. Small amounts of THC can help release tension and quiet racing thoughts so you can actually relax instead of lying awake replaying the day.

Most importantly, listen to your body. If something helps you feel calmer, more patient, and more like yourself, that’s not selfish, that’s necessary. When moms feel better, everyone benefits.

This season, give yourself permission to slow down when you can. You don’t have to do everything perfectly to be doing enough.
