At Bachman, Summer Magic is Always Popping Up
Every June, Bachman Community Center (BCC) transforms into a hub of creativity, laughter, and fun for Signal Mountain families. Known for its beloved summer programs, Bachman isn’t just another place with a set schedule of camps — it’s where summer unfolds in flexible, unexpected ways all season long. Instead of juggling rigid programs, families can enjoy “Summer Your Way,” choosing from a variety of engaging activities for all ages, from preschoolers to teens, without overloading their calendars or budgets. Bachman offers SUMMER YOUR WAY through Pop-up approach. Bachman in summer isn’t just another place with a round of camps – it’s where summer appears in a hundred unexpected ways, every week.
At BCC, summer is built around choice, flexibility, and community. Most activities are one-time commitments — drop in for a day, a week, or just a single event that sparks your interest. Many are free or low-cost, making it easy for families to participate without pressure.
A few favorites are returning this year, including the beloved Read and Do program for ages 3–6, offered twice weekly with stories, activities, and playground time. Wednesdays feature free make-it-take-it crafts followed by Hump Day Picnic and Play, where families can bring lunch and enjoy supervised play and a sweet treat.
For Everyone in Family
BCC also offers a wide range of programming for older kids and tweens, with hands-on, creative experiences designed to challenge and inspire. New series include Grandma’s Crafts Re-Imagined, Music Lab, Tech Forge Guild (featuring 3D printing and laser cutting), and Starter to Sweet, where kids prepare and enjoy a three-course meal while learning practical kitchen skills. Each activity stands alone, so families can mix and match throughout the summer.
Single-day events add even more excitement, from building custom courses at Mini Golf Makerspace to crafting lemonade at Squeeze the Day, making pet treats at Pet Snack Studio, cooling off at Splash Fest, experimenting during Mad Scientist Day, or competing in the new Paddle Battle Tournament.
Community is at the heart of Bachman. Families can contribute to collaborative art projects all summer long and enjoy partnerships with local organizations offering specialized programs. Summer Family Nights bring everyone together with food trucks, games, and relaxed evenings outdoors, kicking off June 4.
Stay in the Loop
Running from June 1 through July 31, Bachman’s summer is full of opportunities to drop in, explore, and connect. With new activities popping up each week — and even the occasional movie afternoon — there’s always something waiting just around the corner.
