1. Removing tripping hazards like loose rugs and clutter, improving lighting throughout the home.

2. Installing grab bars or handrails in bathrooms and along stairways.

3. Getting regular exercise that builds strength and balance, such as walking, stretching, or tai chi, also helps reduce the risk of falls.

4. Reviewing medications with a doctor or pharmacist to uncover side effects like dizziness that may increase fall risk.

5. For those at higher risk, wearing proper footwear.

6. Having regular vision and hearing checks are also important.
