Patterson Place: Bringing Big Dreams Home to Peterson

Have you been wondering what is going on at Patterson Place? Gary and I have been working, planning, and submitting licensing and permits to bring all of our ideas together to benefit our community. Because we always dream big, the permits and licenses are taking some time, but good things are on the way. This article is to share some of those ideas and give you the information you need to sign up or learn more.

Patterson Place is the umbrella that covers several parts of our business. We recently wrapped up two community events: the “Pot of Gold Rush” leprechaun scavenger hunt and our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The next community event is Mary Poppins Day, a kite‑building and flying competition the whole family can enjoy. Looking ahead, we hope to secure funding for a Community Center and Park right here in Peterson—somewhere our community can gather for concerts, recitals, plays, dinners, reunions, meetings, weddings, and so much more.

Conaprole will provide the community with space for agriculture use and events. Beginning in April, our swap meets will be held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, running through October. If you would like to reserve a spot to sell, contact Gary at 971‑282‑8548.

The Hidden Chef is designed to make your family meals fun and healthy again. Each month, 12 meals will be available, and you can order up to 15 meals in servings of 3–4 or 4–8. Once your order is received, we go to work so you don’t have to—creating a meal plan and doing the shopping for you. Then we provide a two‑hour chef instruction session so you can organize your groceries for faster, cleaner, and healthier meals with your family. The cost of this service is about $3 a serving. To get started, text 503‑267‑5160 and ask for the order form.

Whatcha‑want will handle all food and mercantile sales. With your input, we will gather what you want us to sell and do our best to provide exactly that for the community—the name says it all: we’ve got WHATCHA WANT! Our little shack will serve as an eatery with a grab‑and‑go section. Over time, we hope to offer breakfast, grab‑n‑go lunch, and themed‑dinner nights a couple of times a week. We will also have a place for food trucks, bringing even more options to this end of the county.

We are excited to get back to serving our community and hope you will continue to support us. To keep up with what’s coming and what’s going on, you can text your phone number to 503‑267‑5160 to be added to a weekly notification list.
