We are pleased to announce that our longtime Pilates Instructor, Kasia, is now offering Shiatsu Massage at our studio. Kasia has undergone extensive training over the past year to become a Shiatsu Therapist. Shiatsu is a Japanese therapeutic massage that uses finger, thumb, and palm pressure along energy meridians to balance “Ki” (vital energy), reduce stress, and alleviate pain. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, this holistic practice focuses on unblocking energy stagnation and balancing Yin and Yang. During a session, clients remain fully clothed on a floor mat while the practitioner incorporates stretching and joint manipulation without the use of oils. This “Mother Hand” technique provides a supportive and nurturing touch that can offer significant benefits, including:
- Pain Relief: Effective for headaches, back pain, and general muscle tension.
- Stress Reduction: Promotes deep relaxation and improved circulation.
- Holistic Health: Supports recovery from fatigue, digestive disorders, insomnia, and anxiety. Please note that while Shiatsu is highly effective, some clients may experience mild muscle stiffness or fatigue for 24–48 hours following a session. This therapy is not recommended for those with acute illnesses, high fever, or those recovering immediately from surgery.
