For decades, Chapelstreet Church has believed that faith grows when it is lived out through service. One of the most meaningful ways this happens is through our Student Missions program, where students step beyond their normal routines to experience grace, grow in their faith, and make an impact by living out Jesus’ love.
Over the years, thousands of Chapelstreet students have participated in mission experiences across the United States and around the world. What began decades ago as a vision to help students see God’s work beyond their everyday lives has become a defining part of our church’s story. Each year, students and leaders travel together to serve communities, build relationships, and partner with ministry partners doing meaningful work.
Students often return home with a deeper understanding of their faith and a clearer picture of God’s heart for people everywhere. They discover that serving others changes not only the communities they visit, but also their own lives. Many students form lifelong friendships, grow in confidence, and begin to see how their faith can shape their daily lives.
This year continues that long tradition of service. Approximately 100 high school students and 24 adult leaders will serve in three locations: St. Paul, Minnesota; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; and Quito, Ecuador.
In each of these places, students will partner with organizations and ministries that are already faithfully serving their communities. They may assist with outreach programs, support local initiatives, build relationships with families, or help meet practical needs. While the specific projects vary by location, the heart behind them is always the same: to love people well and reflect the compassion of Christ.
Just as important as the work students do during the trip is what happens within them. Serving others helps students grow in empathy, humility, and courage. It expands their understanding of the world and invites them to see how God can use their gifts to make a difference. Many students return home inspired to continue serving in their own communities. Student Missions help young people discover that their faith is meant to move beyond the walls of the church and into the lives of others.
These mission opportunities are made possible through the generosity and encouragement of our church family. When students step out to serve, they do so knowing that their community is praying for them, supporting them, and investing in the impact they will make.
