Texas Termite Alert: Prevent Costly Damage

Weak spots in your home are an open invitation- Prevent before it’s too late.

Texas is the perfect breeding ground for subterranean termites, it has warm temperatures, and a humid climate. Experts show that termite activity in the Lone Star State is more active than homeowners ever realize.

Silent House Destruction Happening Below Your Feet…

Subterranean termites are the species responsible for most structural damage. They only need a tiny crack to invade a home, and once they are established, they can eat silently for years before homeowners notice a sign. Texas is classified by the USDA as a Zone 1 termite risk area. That is the highest level of structural threat in the U.S. There are five total zones, and in zone 1 this means termite pressure surpasses nearly every other state.

Texas termite statistics… they are literally everywhere.

Research on termite colony density shows that termite pressure on residential land is substantially intense:

  • In some studies up to 25 termite colonies per acre have been documented in residential areas.
  • Other parts of Texas is not as dense as the North Texas area, and have reported 12-20 colonies per acre.

Subterranean termite is actually an aggressive “Super Termite”.

Termites are active year-round in Texas. Mild winters no longer suppress underground activity like it once did. The eastern subterranean termite, dry wood termites, and the Formosan termite are active throughout the entire state of Texas.

THE COST OF WAITING CAN BE CATASTROPHIC…

Termites cause BILLIONS of structural damage ANNUALLY, it is so severe that authorities say homeowners should treat prevention as seriously as they do fire, and flood. In Texas alone 25% of homes are infested at any given time. Homeowner insurance policies usually do not cover termite damage, because infestations are considered: PREVENTABLE with yearly inspections, and pretreatment, and treatments.
