Real or A.I? That seems to be the question about so many aspects of our lives these days. When it comes to protecting the ones we love, and the things that help us make a life with them, we might want to pause before choosing an impersonal algorithm over a real-live insurance agent.

When those unexpected hardships show up in your life, having an agent that lives in your community, a person you recognize, and have personally interacted with, can make all the difference in navigating a difficult situation. An algorithm doesn’t help you find ways to reduce costs during rising inflation, doesn’t explain insurance lingo, understand the emotions involved with crises, or the best way to navigate through it.

I like to explain minimizing damage from life’s risks by using a 3-legged stool analogy: one leg for liability exposures, one leg for health, one leg for life. If one of those legs were to fail, the whole stool collapses. Insurance can protect you from all three risks.

One of the largest liability exposures we take is when we get behind the wheel of our vehicle. You might wonder why your agent would ask about your financial portfolio when discussing car insurance. A real-life agent asks the right questions to understand your particular coverage needs. Your agent knows how important it is for you to have the highest liability coverage you can reasonably afford. Having adequate coverage protects everything you’ve worked for.

Increasing medical costs can devastate a family if they don’t have adequate health insurance coverage. An agent can help you discover the best coverage available to you and your family to prevent financial ruin.

One of the most important responsibilities of my profession is to provide financial security for those left behind when a loved one passes. Life insurance ensures living dependents can continue paying for ongoing expenses, childcare, and housing. Life insurance can also be used to cover funeral costs and other final expenses. Certain life insurance policies can be used in financial and estate planning. As your personal agent I’m able to guide you in growing personal wealth.

Face-to-face annual reviews allows you and your agent to ask, and answer, important questions, provide any needed changes to your coverage to provide ongoing security, and develop a trusting, informed relationship.

An algorithm is not going to understand your specific needs.
