Choose You: A Gentle Reset for Your Health This May

Back to Articles

When was the last time you truly put your health first?

Not your family’s schedule. Not your work deadlines. Not the endless to-do list that seems to grow longer by the day.

Just you.

May is National Women’s Health Month, and it serves as a powerful reminder to pause and check in with your own well-being. For many women, especially in midlife, this doesn’t come easily. You’re used to showing up for everyone else. You’re the helper, the organizer, the one who keeps everything moving.

But somewhere along the way, your needs quietly slipped to the bottom of the list.

I see this every day in my work with women over 40. They’re doing so much right, yet they feel tired, foggy, or not quite like themselves. Sleep becomes inconsistent. Energy dips. Weight shifts. Mood changes. And often, they assume it’s just part of aging.

It’s not.

These are not signs that something is wrong with you. They are signals from your body asking for support.

And here’s the good news. You don’t need an extreme plan or a complete life overhaul. In fact, the most meaningful changes often come from small, consistent choices.

This is where I invite you to embrace a simple but powerful concept: Choose You Self Care.

Choosing you might look like:

  • Finally scheduling the appointment you’ve been putting off
  • Taking a peaceful walk along the Lake Las Vegas shoreline and letting your mind reset
  • Prioritizing sleep instead of pushing through exhaustion
  • Nourishing your body with foods that support steady energy
  • Saying no to what drains you so you can say yes to what restores you

Self-care isn’t indulgent. It’s essential!

When you take care of yourself, everything else in your life benefits. You show up with more patience, more clarity, and more energy. You feel more like yourself again.

And perhaps most importantly, you begin to rebuild trust with your body.

So as you move through this month, I want you to come back to this question:

When was the last time you put your health first?

If it’s been a while, let this be your moment. Not someday. Not when life slows down.

Now.

Because your health is not just about preventing disease. It’s about creating a life where you feel strong, vibrant, and fully present.

And you deserve to feel amazing!
