Our calendars are packed to the minute, and sometimes it feels impossible to “check every box” as parents, doesn’t it?
Family Dinners…check
Get to football practice on time…check
Volunteer for PTA…check

Faith building at home…?
Jesus commanded us to make disciples, and that certainly includes our own children. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
First Pres Tampa has a tool you can add to your faith-at-home toolbox to help foster biblical conversations with your children – on the go! “Christ in the Carline” is a weekly podcast for families, released Wednesday mornings at 7am. Just 5 minutes a week can boost all sorts of Jesus-centered discussions!
Here is a sample of an episode transcript below:
Miracle Moments
Hey friends! Welcome back to Christ in the Carline!
Have you ever heard a Bible story so many times that your brain goes,
“Oh yeah, I know this one,” and then your ears kind of… take a nap?
Wake them up — because today we’re zooming in on details most people miss.
Today we’re talking about Feeding the 5,000 and Walking on Water.
The Bible says 5,000 men — not counting women and children.
Scholars estimate there may have been 15,000–20,000 people total.
That’s like filling an entire NBA arena! Jesus had them sit in large groups.
This miracle wasn’t chaotic — it was organized, like a giant picnic.
The lunch came from a kid: Five small barley rolls (the bread poor families ate)and two small salted fish — more like ancient tuna packets than big fish.
This was not a Costco-sized meal. It was a lunchbox. And the only person who offered food?
A child!
In John’s Gospel, the crowd wanted to make Jesus king immediately — because free bread forever sounded amazing.
But Jesus slipped away, because the miracle wasn’t about becoming the Bread Distributor of Galilee. It was about showing He is the Bread of Life.
When everyone finished eating, twelve baskets were left over — one for each disciple. Almost like Jesus was saying, “You worried? I’ve got enough for you too.”
What feels small in your hands is never small in God’s hands.
Another amazing miracle involved actual walking on water!
The Sea of Galilee sits about 700 feet below sea level. Cold air from mountains collides with warm lake air, and storms explode quickly.
These were experienced fishermen — and they were scared. Jesus sent them into the boat knowing the storm would come.
Sometimes obedience leads straight into wind and waves. Jesus came during the fourth watch of the night —between 3:00 and 6:00 a.m.
They had been rowing for hours. Exhausted and afraid.
And Jesus didn’t calm the storm first. He walked on it.
The thing threatening them was right under His feet.
Then, Peter stepped out of the boat. For a few seconds, he did the impossible. He only sank when his focus shifted.
Sometimes the miracle isn’t that the storm disappears. Sometimes the miracle is that you don’t sink.
Car Line Question:
What feels impossible right now?
…Is it a math test?
…Making a team?
…A friendship problem?
…Being brave when you’re nervous?
….Telling the truth when it’s hard?
The same Jesus who multiplied bread and stepped on storms is alive — and He hasn’t gotten smaller.
Thank you for listening, and remember:
Jesus loves me this I know, day and night and on the go!
