Clenching and Grinding: What Bruxism Is Doing to Your Smile

Bruxism is a condition that involves the involuntary pattern of grinding and clenching of teeth.

Many adults and children suffer from this habit without even knowing it as bruxism commonly occurs while sleeping. Cases of bruxism have been on the rise since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic due to increased levels of stress. The following points will help to diagnose, treat, and prevent the effects of bruxism.

Signs and Symptoms

Signs of bruxism may go unnoticed at first, but as it becomes a chronic habit, it may lead to more permanent and severe damage if left untreated. Signs of bruxism include:
