Pro Tips:
The “Golden Rules” of Maintenance Lived-in color is meant to last 3–6 months, and K-tips can last 4–5 months. To make them go the distance:
- Separate the Bonds. Every morning, run your fingers between the bonds to ensure they aren’t tangling at the root (matting).
- The “Boar Bristle” Brush. Use a brush specifically designed for extensions. It glides over the keratin bonds without snagging or pulling them out.
- Low-Heat Styling as the bond is a keratin. High heat directly on the bond will melt it. Keep irons at least 2 inches away from the scalp. Dry the Roots.
- Never go to bed with wet hair. Moisture can soften the keratin bonds over time, leading to slipping or “shedding” from the bond.
