This July 4, America celebrates its 250th birthday. This is also called the Semiquincentennial and commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This exciting milestone reflects 250 years of American history and the excitement behind the red, white, and blue. Just as our great nation celebrates by flying its colors proudly, DHJ is built on history, family, and our own set of proud and recognizable colors.

Our family moved to Paris in 1979, and we raised our family here. Our eldest daughter lives in McKinney, and she has two daughters. Our middle daughter lives in Paris, and she has both a son and a daughter. Our youngest daughter is a local elementary school teacher and has two sons. Paris is our home, and this community means so much to us.

Our family is of the utmost importance – sports, card games, four-wheeling, bike riding, swimming, fishing, and playing with our grandchildren are our greatest joys. Family means the most. We have seen Paris thrive and grow, and through it all, one thing remains – family. It seemed a natural fit to create a logo with our three daughters’ birthstones to signify the importance placed on family: both our immediate and our business family. The shimmer of a diamond, the brilliance of a green emerald, and the fire of a ruby signify our daughters, but also this business we have poured into over the years!

Our business philosophy has always been to be honest and make friends, and the business will follow. Because of this, our business has been built on long-lasting partnerships and friendships, and we are grateful for every single stepping stone that has helped the House name remain synonymous with fine jewelry for over 100 years!

While we are proud to have the sparkle, green and red represent DHJ, we are equally proud to have the red, white, and blue represent the great USA. Happy Birthday, America, from all of us at David House Jewelry, Where Everything Shines!
