The store specializes in natural and raw pet foods, functional treats, and wellness products that are not typically found in big-box retailers. Its approach is rooted in a more holistic view of pet health—looking at nutrition, gut health, allergies, and overall well-being as connected pieces rather than isolated issues. A large part of the work is helping customers understand how what they feed their pets shows up in day-to-day health, from skin and coat condition to energy levels and digestion. “A lot of what we do is simply helping people connect the dots between what they’re feeding and how their pet feels day to day,” they said.
The business grew out of firsthand experience with how much proper nutrition can change a pet’s quality of life. What started as a personal interest in animal health developed into a career focused on helping pet owners make more informed decisions. “When you see a pet go from struggling to thriving, it sticks with you,” they said. “That’s what made this more than just an interest for me.”
That perspective carries into how products are selected and recommended in the store. The focus is on clean, ingredient-driven options—foods without unnecessary fillers, artificial additives, or low-quality byproducts—and diets that better align with what pets are naturally built to eat. Whether it’s transitioning a dog to a raw diet, finding options for a sensitive stomach, or introducing functional supplements, the goal is to create a plan that fits both the pet and the owner. “When pet owners understand what’s actually in the food, they make different choices,” they said. “And those choices usually lead to better results.”
Much of the day-to-day comes down to working directly with customers and their pets. Many walk in dealing with specific concerns—itching, digestive issues, picky eating—and leave with a clearer direction and a plan to try. Over time, those conversations turn into long-term relationships, with customers returning to share updates and adjust as their pet’s needs change. “We have customers who come back and update us on how their pet is doing—that relationship is a big part of why we’re here,” they said.
There’s also a practical, everyday side to the store. Dogs often head straight for the treat bar, some remember exactly where their food is kept, and most expect attention when they walk in. “We’ve had dogs pull their owners through the door because they know exactly where the good stuff is,” they added.
Beyond the retail side, EarthWise regularly hosts in-store events, seasonal promotions, and product tastings. These give customers a chance to learn more about different feeding approaches, ask questions, and stay engaged in their pet’s care in a hands-on way. The goal is to create a consistent, reliable resource for pet owners who want to take a more active role in their pet’s long-term health.
They encourage pet owners to stay engaged and ask questions, especially when it comes to nutrition. “Your pet’s health really does start with what’s in their bowl,” they said. “We’re just here to help guide people in the right direction.
