Chelsea Urgent Care is pleased to introduce Chris Coston, NP, a Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 26 years of healthcare experience. Dr. Daugherty is excited to welcome Chris to the practice, saying, “I have known Chris for more than 20 years and am confident in his experience, clinical judgment, and commitment to patient care. He will be an outstanding addition to our team and the Chelsea community.”
After graduating from UAB, Chris began his career in emergency medicine. “I have practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past 26 years,” he said. “After graduating from UAB, I started working in emergency medicine. For the past 20 years, I have enjoyed working in primary and urgent care.”
Chris says his interest in medicine began with a fascination for how the human body works. “I have always been interested in the science behind how the human body works,” he explained. “I most enjoy helping my patients understand their diagnosis and encouraging them to be proactive in helping to meet treatment goals.”
His philosophy of care is simple: “Individualizing care to patients from all walks of life.”
When asked what inspires him most, Chris shared, “I am inspired by people who love what they do. You can spot them from a mile away.”
Chris also has a message for the community. “Chelsea Urgent Care is here for all of your urgent and primary care needs. Trust that we will give you the best we have to offer in medical care.”
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Tanya, have two children, Connor and Millie Margaret. Tanya teaches first grade at Greystone Elementary, and the family attends The Church at Brook Hills. In his spare time, Chris enjoys home improvement projects, “but not the ones that choose me.”
