Summer in Victoria invites us outdoors. Whether you’re golfing, gardening, hiking local trails, cycling, kayaking, or simply enjoying longer days with family and friends, increased activity can leave the body feeling tight, sore, and fatigued.

While many people think of massage as a luxury, it can be an important part of maintaining an active lifestyle. Therapeutic massage helps improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and support recovery after physical activity. Regular treatments can also help identify areas of strain before they develop into more significant discomfort or injury.

Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST) offers another powerful tool for keeping the body moving well. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, joints, and organs. Over time, repetitive movements, stress, and inactivity can cause fascia to become restricted, limiting mobility and contributing to aches and stiffness.

Unlike traditional stretching, FST is performed on a treatment table with the assistance of a trained therapist. Gentle, pain-free movements help decompress joints, improve flexibility, and  restore natural movement patterns throughout the body. Many clients report feeling lighter, looser, and more balanced after a session.

For active individuals, combining massage therapy with fascia stretch therapy can improve recovery, enhance performance, and support overall well-being. That is why I have developed a 90 min session that starts with a stretching session, followed with a custom massage. Whether you’re training for an event, spending weekends on the golf course, or simply making the most of summer activities, caring for your body helps ensure you can continue doing what you love.

This season, invest in your mobility, recovery, and long-term health. Your body will thank you for it.
