When most people hear the words regenerative medicine, they immediately think of stem cells. While autologous stem cell therapy is what my practice is best known for, I wanted to also talk about a simple yet powerful regenerative protocol that has been working remarkably well for my patients dealing with everyday joint pain, sports injuries, and early arthritis. These are procedures that work by activating your existing stem cells.
- Focused Shock Wave Therapy
- Medical Ozone Therapy
- PRP/PRF (Platelet Rich Plasma/Platelet Rich Fibrin)
Each of these treatments offers distinct benefits individually. However, when they are carefully timed and combined, they create what my patients describe as “sequential relief” – an immediate wave of comfort that smoothly transitions into longer-lasting, deep-tissue healing.
I call this unique combination the AutoCorre Rapid Relief Protocol. By combining these proven regenerative therapies in a very specific sequence, we are able to provide both immediate pain management and long-term biological healing support. This is how the protocol works:
Step 1: Focused Shock Wave Therapy
The protocol begins with a painless focused shock wave therapy session. Shock wave therapy utilizes acoustic waves to stimulate blood circulation, improve localized tissue healing, and effectively “prime” the injured area for cellular regeneration. Many patients experience a noticeable reduction in discomfort immediately after this first step.
Step 2: Medical Ozone Therapy
Next, we administer medical ozone therapy. Ozone is a specialized form of oxygen where O₂ is temporarily converted into O₃ through a precise electrical charge. When medical ozone comes into contact with injured tissue, it transfers an electron that triggers a natural healing cascade while deeply oxygenating the targeted area. Medical ozone has a rich history of clinical use and was first explored medically by Nikola Tesla. It has been safely utilized for decades by integrative and naturopathic physicians around the world. Typically, relief from ozone treatment alone starts to take effect within a few days.
Step 3: PRP and PRF for Long-Term Healing
The final component of the protocol is PRP and PRF therapy. Platelet-Rich Plasma and Platelet-Rich Fibrin are completely natural, derived directly from a small sample of the patient’s own blood. This process concentrates your blood’s natural growth factors and signaling proteins, which act as a powerful blue print to repair and rebuild damaged tissue over time. By placing this long-term healing powerhouse into an area that has already been primed by shock wave therapy and energized by medical ozone, the body can bypass the traditional “lag time” often associated with regenerative medicine.
What makes this protocol such a home run for my patients is that it gives them immediate relief that lasts. We use a local anesthetic to perform the injections so that there is almost no pain while receiving the treatment. As the anesthetic starts to wear off, the mechanical effects of the shock wave therapy maintain the pain relief for a few days until the ozone starts to kick in. That keeps the pain away seamlessly until the PRP/PRF starts to work its magic.
This strategic sequence of treatments performed in a single clinical session can work as a highly effective, one-time intervention for acute or simple injuries. In patients presenting with more advanced, chronic degenerative conditions, the treatment can be strategically repeated in six months to comfortably maintain pain relief. The most rewarding aspect of this protocol is that many patients experience a powerful cumulative effect, where the targeted joint structure continues to demonstrably improve with each subsequent treatment phase.
For patients managing more significant joint degeneration, this sequence functions as an essential structural primer to kickstart the biological healing process prior to receiving advanced cellular therapies. This is exactly how we are able to successfully help avoid or delay surgery for so many of our patients. Compared to the inherent structural risks of surgery, dependency on chronic pain medications, or the tissue-destructive nature of traditional steroid injections, this is an advanced protocol that simply makes sense.
